Understanding how the act of dedication relates to us becoming more conscious in our lives

Part 1: A Dedication To Life

This article is part of the Unified Consciousness Framework series. To gain the maximum benefit from reading this series it would be wise to read them sequentially.

This is the introduction to the set of articles which outlines the Unified Consciousness Framework in its entirety. It is worth taking some time, especially now that we find ourselves at the start, to briefly explain how this framework came into being. You see, it is only natural that as we develop ourselves and come increasingly in touch with whatever lies at the core of our being, that the manifestation of the aspect of ourselves that lies in close proximity to this core becomes increasingly refined and begins to take form in the world around us. Imagine then how this manifestation would unfold when what lies at the core of your being is an intention to come to realise the true nature of reality. Eventually, as steps are taken towards that outcome, some object related to that intention begins to take form in the world; that object in this specific case being this framework.

Initially, as is so often the case with these journeys, a shift occurred in my life which resulted in me leaving the life that I had been living ‘previously’ behind. After some time making some effort towards the task of discovering the true nature of reality, by scoping out a variety of different potential avenues, the existence of a certain part of myself began to become more apparent. This part of myself was not just interested in the journey, but in recording certain elements of that journey so that those recordings could become a part of the journey itself. It is these recordings that then became the seeds of the framework which you find here. Therefore, in reality, this framework actually began its life as a set of shorthand notes jotted down in a small notebook, each of these notes marking certain realisations and experiences which stood out to me on that path. I had been keeping these notes in order to make sense of, and integrate, certain experiences which had become part of the journey of discovery that I had subsequently become engaged with.

It was as these notes were collated, increasingly refined, and subsequently expanded upon, that a framework began to emerge from within them. Because of the very nature of said notes and the nature of the experiences recorded, the framework that emerged was clearly related to uncovering the fundamental nature of the cosmos. These original notes were then expanded upon and transformed into articles so that the fundamentals of this framework could become firmly established and internally realised as a part of my own conscious perception first. Serendipitously, it just so happened to be the case that these articles became so interconnected that they began to flow, one into the other, as if they had been created with an exact sequence in mind. It was as if I had found pieces of a puzzle and, all of a sudden, realised that they not only could be connected together, but that connecting them together was something that should be done because doing so produced something far greater then any one of those individual pieces could ever achieve on its own. The connection of these individual parts then became part of the process of coming to understand the monumental scope of the whole, the thing which I had been hoping to discover the true nature of.

This period, where the original notes were expanded upon, went on for some time. Eventually I arrived at the point where this expansion was able to fill a large book. It was only natural then to produce this book, seeing as the work to do so had already been done. It should be emphasised at this early stage of the framework though that a book was produced without there ever being the intention or desire to produce such a thing from the start. The significance of this is something that will become more evident as the individual continues to make progress through the framework.

Therefore, having covered the framework’s genesis, we can take a moment now to be briefly summarise what the Unified Consciousness Framework contains within its scope, especially for those individuals who are not yet sure as to whether they would like to progress through it any further. To that end, the subtitle of that original book summarizes the subject matter contained here within in the most proficient manner. This framework outlines the basis for the unification of science, philosophy, religion, and spirituality, as well as outlining the complete internal realisation of the nature of consciousness. It is by covering the entirety of this framework that the reader will come to realise, not just intellectually but as an internal experience, the fundamental nature of the cosmos, consciousness and, most importantly, themselves. Put in simpler terms, this framework answers any potential question the reader could ever come up with.

It was my hope that this framework would become a beneficial tool that others could use if they were looking to walk a path that was similar to my own. I thought that this would be all that I wrote, but soon after completing the main body of that book I found that there was much more to add, as well as there being much more that I was inspired to write about. Not only was I inspired to write more, but I saw that it was also beneficial to begin to introduce examples to readers which are based on the various different experiences that we typically encounter on a daily basis so that they could more easily integrate many of the ideas and concepts that they became aware by engaging with the framework. These examples show the reader how they may apply the principles contained within the framework as a lived experience in their own lives.

These examples and more practical applications of the framework can be found in the framework, but additionally in what has subsequently been named the Ancient Wisdom Talks series. Additionally, there are also two other series of articles: Poetry For The Soul and Pearls Of Wisdom, which use the principles outlined in the Unified Consciousness Framework as their basis, only presenting these ideas and concepts to the reader through a different format. Essentially, everything that is written and published here uses this same fundamental framework as its basis, but the particular nature of the expression that this writing takes is different in each case. This is being stated so that, if the reader is struggling to comprehend and internally realise the framework by going through it in isolation on its own, they can aid their process by looking at the other content that is published here; the various articles and content which run parallel to the framework. By taking such an approach, a gap is able to be bridged between the purely intellectual nature of the concepts being discussed and the reader’s actual lived experience.

It is impossible to not repeat the core principles of the framework constantly throughout the various different pieces of writing published here precisely because these principles are so fundamental that they lie, quite literally, at the core of everything. The best way for anyone to approach the content published as a means to help develop themselves is for them to use all of these different formats of writing as tools, each of these tools having been made available to the seeker as part of one cohesive system. You can think of each of these modes of expression as if they were something similar to a different tool that we might find in a carpenter’s tool set. Using the analogy of a carpenter to illustrate this idea, we observe that although an experienced carpenter may be able to use just one tool to make a piece of furniture, it is far easier for them to arrive at the finished article by using the full variety of tools available to them, as and where appropriate.

Working through the framework is able to help us come to see the principles which are operating behind our experience of life, but even with the framework having been read, the full and complete realisation of these principles may still be elusive to the vast majority of readers. There is still some work which must be done by an individual for them to go from intellectually understanding what has been read to internally realising those same ideas. Internal realisation can only occur once the principle being discussed has been directly experienced by the individual. Conveniently for us, becoming aware of the process itself helps us to make progress with the process! It is in the Ancient Wisdom Talks, Poetry For The Soul, and Pearls Of Wisdom series of articles where we may then find additional practical examples that bridge the gap between what we observe in our lives and what we have understood from the framework. Life is ultimately a lived experience, and so the framework must be practically applied in our lives for it to bring to us any real value.

A Dedication

As you may later come to understand, once you have fully integrated the framework, when beginning something new it is always important to take the time to set the proper conditions and intention. It is not just important that we take action and begin something, but of additional importance is the nature of how we begin that something. It is the nature of its beginning which ultimately gives a certain quality to the impetus behind it and how the events within that series of experiences unfold. It is for this reason that time is taken at the start of the framework to outline a dedication. Just as one may consecrate a sacred space or temple once it has been built, in much the same way this dedication is my consecration of this ‘space’. This dedication encapsulates within it the impetus which has been placed behind this work and gives the reader some idea of the trajectory that their lives will begin to take when they spend time with it.
